Terms and Conditions

  • 25% of the Rental Fee is payable on booking. This is non-refundable.

  • The outstanding (75%) of the Rental Fee, any applicable Delivery Charge and the Damage Deposit must be paid within 14 days of the hired date. Payment must be made by either direct bank transfer or cash. 

  • If your event is within 14 days of booking, full payment is required this includes full rental fee, or any applicable delivery charge and the Damage Deposit.

  • If a meeting is needed to view itemsthe 25% of the rental fee will need paying before the meeting can take place.

Delivery and Collection
  • The quote will be for two days use.  Delivery of the items to your venue will be on the day before your event between 2pm and 6pm, and collection will be between 9am and 1pm (dependent on the day), if you would like alternate arrangements please inform us before booking.

  • On delivery and/or collection day as stated above, should you not be available, there will be a waiting fee of £20 per hour  from the Damage Deposit.  Waiting time will be no longer that the Damage Deposit covers. 

  • We agree to deliver and collect orders over £50 free of charge within 10 miles of DE13 0YB. Any distance over 10 miles radius of DE13 0YB will be charged at 45p a mile.

  • Address for collection and delivery must be the same.

  • Hirer may collect and deliver from Teacups and Wishes address, free of charge.​

Cancellations and Amendments
  • Cancellations must be made at least 14 days prior to the event, or the remaining 75% of the Rental Fee will be due.

  • Should the hirer choose to cancel,  the hirer must confirm the cancellation in writing or by email.

  • If the hirer does not pay the full Rental Fee, plus Damage Deposit, and Delivery Charges (if applicable), at least 14 days before the event, this will confirm the order as cancelled.

  • Finalisation of the order must be confirmed 14 days prior to the event date. 

Damage Deposit
  • We require a damage deposit equal to the order value 14 days prior to the event. This is refundable if there are no breakages/losses occur.

  • Payment for damage (cracks, chips, breakage) or loss is as follows:

teapot - £20

coffee pot - £20

teacup - £6

saucer - £6

tea plate - £6

cake fork - £3

teaspoon - £3

butter knife - £3

sugar tongs - £2

3 tiered cake stand - £15

cake plate - £4

milk jug - £2

sugar bowl - £2

Caring for our China

  • All out items are vintage so there may be signs of age, gold gilt maybe worn or grazing, but there will be NO cracks or chips to the china unless otherwise stated.

  • Please kindly handle our items with care. Please do not put any items in a dishwasher, microwave or oven.  Let any one helping at your event including caterers, the venue etc, aware of these conditions.

  • Before collection, please wipe any food and liquid. Then repack using the packaging provided on delivery. Try to repack the items in the same manner you received it in. A checklist will be provided in each box to make it easier for the hirer to see what goes where and to check everything has been returned.

  • We accept no responsibility for any liability in the event of any injury or damage caused by our hired items or carrying of potentially heavy boxes.

  • Heavy boxes will be labelled with a weight warning.


  • All hired items, remain the property of Teacups and Wishes at all times and are the hirers responsibility for the hire period  Third parties such as caterers or at the venue of the event also take responsibility for the items hired.

  • Please read the terms and conditions carefully prior to booking, as when you pay the 25% Rental Fee you confirm you are in agreement with our terms and conditions.
